Our Vision

A True Spelling & Training Property

We believe a horse shouldn’t have to leave home to rest. At Denistoun Park, horses can train and spell on the same property. Moving seamlessly between fitness work and recovery, without the stress of relocation.

Excellence Through Facilities

We believe world-class results start with world-class infrastructure. Every track, surface, and piece of equipment at Denistoun Park is designed to give horses the best possible foundation.

A Quiet Path to Peak Condition

We believe horses perform best when they’re given space to develop without pressure. Our peaceful Mornington Peninsula setting lets every horse progress at the right pace, free from the intensity of a busy training yard.

Our Owners

Barb and Barry Saunders are the owners of Denistoun Park, bringing years of hands on experience as thoroughbred owner-breeders to the property.

All of Denistoun Park’s leading performers share a common story. Each were homebred and raised at Wyndholm Park in Ballarat, before coming to Denistoun Park as yearlings where they were broken in, educated, and pre-trained through every stage of their racing preparation.

Leading the way is Al Duca, having earned over $583,000 in prize money. Close behind are Fire of Etna ($363,950) and Brave Miss ($243,290) — both daughters of Rebel Raider, with Brave Miss sharing her dam, Kaye Club, with fellow Denistoun Park performer Kaye Jay. Together, these results reflect the same foundation, carried from foal to racehorse.

With genuine success on both the breeding and racing sides of the industry, Barb and Barry bring firsthand understanding of what it takes to give a horse the best possible start and what facilities are needed to get a horse there.

From breaking in and early education, through pre-training preparation and spelling, right through to conditioning a horse ready to join a racing stable and perform at its best.

Denistoun Park is built around every stage of that journey. Giving horses the foundation they need to reach the track ready to produce results.
